On May 7, 2005, PRISM investigators David Rodriguez, Josie R., Anney H., and Jada M. visited the Villisca Cemetery and conducted an overnight investigation of the Villisca Axe Murder House. They were accompanied by American Ghost Society members, Troy Taylor and Ursula Bielski, and three guest investigators, Paula, Melissa, and Dawn.

The home has been restored to the way it used to look in 1912, and because of this, the home has no running electricity or any bathrooms ...an outhouse is located in the back yard.

The ghost of one of the boys murdered in the home, Paul (age 5), is rumored to still roam upstairs around the second floor children's bedroom. We were intrigued and wanted to see this for ourselves. As strange as this sounds, we were able to get Paul to open and close the children's bedroom closet door for us, on command, a total of 13 times. This happened two more times while nobody was in the room. (Note: All windows in the home were closed, and because their is absolutely no electricity in the home ...no A/C or window drafts were present in the room.)

Photos of a strange mist (unseen to the naked eye) were captured in the attic, and EMF spikes were recorded in the Blue Room, even though there was no electricity in the home.

The closet door in the master bedroom was the cause of a great deal of fascination during our investigation of The Villisca Axe Murder House. This closet door, located on the second floor children's bedroom, opened and closed, on command, for the investigators numerous times throughout the night. Could this be the work of the ghost of one of the children who was killed in the home in 1912? It is believed that the ghost of 5-year old Paul likes to hide in this closet. Every time we asked Paul to open or close the closet door for us, he did.

The home has no electricity (which means no A/C or fans), and all the windows in the house were closed.

This orb was caught on one of our wireless surveillance cameras that was set up in the second floor children's bedroom, on the second floor of the home. The orb first appears at the top left-hand side of the screen, and then circles around to the lower portion of the screen, shooting into the closet, before one of the investigators walks into the room. Could this orb be the spirit energy of one of the Moore children trying to hide in the closet?

EVP: CLASS B

This is a great EVP! The audio clip was recorded in the children's bedroom at 1:53am.

David R. asks "What time are we supposed to leave here anyway?" then Anney says, "I dunno." Immediately after that, two children's voices (a boy and a girl?) can be heard talking over each other. It sounds as if the boy is saying "Get in here." and it is difficult to tell what the girl is saying. Right after that, David thinks he heard somebody say something and asks "What?", Anney responds with "huh?"

This EVP was recorded by PRISM investigator David R. on an Olympus W-10 digital audio recorder on May 8, 2005. In the third audio clip, the audio was slowed down by 25% using Adobe Audition software.

EVP: CLASS B

The audio clip was recorded in the children's bedroom at 2:47am.

A loud click, then two children are heard speaking. One child says what sounds like, "He's gonna hurt us." and then the other says what sounds like "Paul." At that moment, David R. says, "Woah ...that was a good one. What was that? That was a good one ...misty." referring to a photograph he had just shot in the attic that showed a mist.

This EVP was recorded by PRISM investigator David R. on an Olympus W-10 digital audio recorder on May 8, 2005. In the second audio clip, noise reduction was added, to reduce hiss, and the audio was slowed down by 25% using Adobe Audition software.

EVP: CLASS B

This audio clip was recorded in the children's bedroom at 1:52am.

A loud click is heard, then David R. says, "I keep forgetting about this" (referring to an EMF meter) and Anney, who was commenting on David's hunger at the time says, "Get breakfast pizza in the morning." Immediately after that, an eerie sounding laugh is heard followed by a male voice that says, "Oooh!" After that, David goes on to comment about forgetting to use one of his EMF meters.
